We Wish You a Merry CodeMas

December 7

We challenge you to an hour of code!

The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. The 2023 Computer Science Education Week kicks off today, December 4th -10th, but you can host an Hour of Code all year-round.

Computer science fosters creativity and teaches students critical thinking skills to become proactive learners, making elementary school the ideal time for students to be introduced to CS.

Use the provided variety of fun, student-guided tutorials for all age groups and experience levels. It’s popular for students to try self-led tutorials, though many activities include lesson plans for teachers to guide discussion or extend the activity as well.

Explore the activities and decide ahead of time if you want to choose a single tutorial for all of your students, or let each child pick their own.

Celebrate successes and achievements by printing personalized Hour of Code certificates for your coders in training!

Earn Your Hour of Code with Minecraft!

Minecraft EDU + Artificial Intelligence

Generation AI is available through Minecraft Education in the in-game library. Teachers need no prior experience with Minecraft Education to participate; simply make sure your students have access to Generation AI on their devices, stream this live event in your classroom, and let your students dive in and play along.

Using Minecraft EDU for the first time?

Minecraft EDU can be added to your teacher device from Company Portal. Students will add the app to their Chromebook from the Google Play Store. For help with access, open a Helpdesk ticket or contact your campus Instructional Technologist.
