Make Questions Intentional with Flippity
Our students talk, but how we do get them talking about THE GOOD STUFF? Try a pre-made Flippity question wheel with favorite questions from your curriculum. These questions make great group talk and student closings.Â
Reading Celebrations: Holiday Edition
Let's TALK about our reading! The end of the quarter is the perfect time to celebrate our favorite reads.Â
Assign to your class as "Anyone can Edit."Â
Have students take a selfie with their book using the built in camera.Â
Students use the Mote extension to tell us about why this book lingered with them!Â
Enjoy a collection of class reading celebrations!
Festive Debate
Fun, low-stakes debates increase engagement but also enhance critical thinking skills and the ability to articulate and defend one's perspective. It's a dynamic way to encourage discourse in the classroom.
Select holiday-related topics (e.g., real or artificial Christmas trees, the best holiday movie, the importance of giving gifts).
Divide the class into teams and have them research and prepare arguments for or against the chosen topic, or use a Four Corners/Pick Your Side format.
Host an informal class debate, allowing students to articulate their points of view and engage in discussion.
