We Wish You a Merry Code-Mas

December 7

We challenge you to an hour of code!

The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. The 2023 Computer Science Education Week kicks off today, December 4th -10th, but you can host an Hour of Code all year-round.

Computer science fosters creativity and teaches students critical thinking skills to become proactive learners, making elementary school the ideal time for students to be introduced to CS.

Save Christmas and capture all the presents to deliver back to Whoville!

In this activity there are 20 levels of challenges to complete.  Read the challenge, and place the instructional blocks in place to build the code to meet the challenge! The activity becomes more difficult as you progress through the lesson.  Enjoy the holiday music and scenes as you practice your coding skills!

Generation AI is available through Minecraft Education in the in-game library. Teachers need no prior experience with Minecraft Education to participate; simply make sure your students have access to Generation AI on their devices, stream this live event in your classroom, and let your students dive in and play along.

Using Minecraft EDU for the first time?

Minecraft EDU can be added to your teacher device from Company Portal. Students will add the app to their Chromebook from the Google Play Store. For help with access, open a Helpdesk ticket or contact your campus Instructional Technologist.
